There's something very calming about the search for shadows and the stillness required to capture them. I have been out in the garden this morning and took my shadow shots while there. I think a garden update post as well as one about all of the gorgeous flowers around the yard will be coming soon!

Six Word Saturday - September 17th, 2011

"Because I'm the mum. That's why." 

I have borrowed my six words for Six Word Saturday this week. Last Saturday my two daughters went to the Royal Adelaide Show along with a friend of the eldest. They had a great time and were more organised I think than we would have been if I went too. They left home around 11am and caught the train there and back. They were home shortly after five and satisfied that they had done all they wanted to. I was disappointed to have missed out but really wasn't feeling well so stayed home to rest. This little badge they brought home for me made me smile.

Seek bigger, faster, higher 
Push minds and bodies to limits 
and past 
My children return from a busy day 
Full of stories 
to match many others 
before and after 
Names have changed 
The SupaLoop is now the Hangover 
Screams and vomit are still the same 


I imagine knowing looks 
perhaps some judgments too 
My daughter's dash to the bin 
followed by a grab for her phone 
and the amassing of a collection of 'likes' 

Six Word Saturday - September 10th, 2011

Sometimes space is needed for growth. 

These six words are rather important to me today for a few different reasons. 

Here's a photo of one of the new broad bean plants in my garden, thriving well after I made space to plant some seeds a few weeks ago.
