After the phone call 


Nearly, she sighed, clearly wasn't enough 
Application and interview both really tough 
And now here she cried 
Feeling glad she had tried 
Yet really quite right out of puff

    The question is a) where did I fall short and b) did I want the job after all! Have to agree with being out of puff though.

    Those phone calls really do wind you don't they? You so neatly captured the moment and I can picture her sitting at the bottom of the stairs with the silent phone in her hand and that awful message jangling in her head..Jae
